I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2025 as part of #TeamStroke

I joined #TeamStroke for the Great North Run 2025.

There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.

We're here to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. We believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke, so we work with the stroke community to make sure people affected by stroke get the very best care and support. We rely on your support to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments.

I'm back - I'm back

Monday 20th Jan

After a long hiatus from running, I’m lacing up my shoes once again for the thrill of the race. My journey has had its pauses, but today, I’m rediscovering the runner I once was—and the one I’m becoming.

Life threw me a few curveballs, and for a while, I traded my running shoes for other priorities. But now, I’m back, with a renewed sense of purpose, strength, and gratitude.

This half marathon is more than just a race; it’s a symbol of perseverance, resilience, and self-discovery. I’ve learned that running isn’t just about speed or distance—it’s about pushing through doubts, reconnecting with my passion, and savoring every stride.

Whether it’s the thrill of the starting line or the satisfaction of crossing the finish, this race is a celebration of the journey itself, and of all the moments that led me back to where I belong: running free.

Thankful to you for helping me to support this truly great charity.

Let’s go!
